Our mission is to provide services and support in the areas of consulting, auditing, training, studies, and technological development, in the domains of Security and Defense, Information and International Cooperation

The Lusitano Institute of Consultancy and Training for Defense and Security Areas – ILCADS – is a private civil organization offering services of consultancy, auditing, training, studies and technological development in the areas of Security, Defense, Information and International Cooperation.​​

ILCADS develops its own projects and collaborates with other entities, both national and international, governmental or civil, as required.

STRATEGIC CONSULTANCY

  • Provide expert guidance to help organizations navigate complex challenges in the security and defense sectors

Specialized Services

  • Carry out audits, develop and carry out training

  • Manage and implement support programs funded by national and international entities


Policies and Strategies

  • Foster the connection between European security and defense policies and those of other countries

  • Support activities of business associations in the sector

 

Technological and Industrial Development

  • Promote the national technological and industrial base in the defense sector

  • Encourage the participation of Portuguese companies in projects within this scope

 

Partnerships and Cooperation

  • Establish partnerships with other national and international institutions

  • Participate in EU-funded research networks and projects

 

Public Awareness and Debate

  • Organize seminars, conferences and debates

  • Serve as a forum for discussion between experts and institutions
     

Research and Outreach

  • Promote studies, research and debates on security and defense

  • Encourage the production and publication of works on these topics
     

Collaboration with Government Entities

  • Prepare studies and information to assist in decision-making in national defense, internal security and foreign policy

  • Act as a center of excellence in research, debate and consultancy on security and defense issues, promoting cooperation between different sectors and contributing to the development of national and international policies and strategies in these areas
